I feel so honored to have been nominated for the OSA Spotlight Artist of the Month.
My name is Laurel and I live in Georgia with my hubby of 32 years and our furbaby Annabelle. We have 2 sons, ages 28 and 25 (one living with us and one stationed in Hawaii). I am a Registered Nurse and work on an as-needed basis. LOL, mostly when I need money for stamping toys and supplies.
I was trying to remember the exact moment when I found that Oriental Art appealed to me. I’ve been stamping and paper-crafting since 2003.
I love anything of an Oriental nature. Some of my favorite themes are birds and Geisha. For many people, the first thing that comes to mind when they think of Oriental is black, red, and gold. When I think of Oriental, I think of clean, balanced design. I am inspired by the colors of Washi/Yuzen papers and feel that any color works for Asian art.
I have been inspired and blessed through this OSA group for many years and look forward to many more years of creativity. Thank you for the Spotlight!
